1. Is Fort Recovery a good place for a Honeymoon or Wedding?
An article appeared in a well-known Michigan newspaper about two of our honeymoon guests. They said, “We weren’t the first newlyweds to run our toes through the sun-warmed sand on the private beach at Fort Recovery and we won’t be the last. We settled into our very romantic villa and watched the beautiful sunsets every night. Fort Recovery is secluded and has its our own private beach.” Many of our guests celebrate their honeymoon, anniversaries, birthdays, and family reunions here. 2. Is Fort Recovery a good place for families and small children?
Fort Recovery is an ideal place for families and children from toddler’s to teen’s. Our
private, secluded white sandy beach is very calm, well manicured and safe with no undertow, strong currents or very rough seas. Fort Recovery can arrange any activity your family would like to do, we make it an easy and enjoyable experience for everyone. Teenagers who are looking for a night out, as well as adults, will find the Bat Cave in Road Town, Bomba’s Shack in Little Apple Bay and Quito’s in Cane Garden Bay, the prime nightlife hot spots of Tortola. Live local steel bands, fungi, reggae and calypso are just a few examples of the excellent entertainment which can be found at these locations. The options are limitless and the activities a plenty. For the younger and wide-eye children you will find everything you need. Boogie boards, fun-noodles, sand-castle competitions, lizard chasing, treasure hunts, beach combing, climbing trees, island tours, delicious food and of course Cable TV with shows your child just can’t miss! We also have free WI-FI internet access throughout our property for all your communication, business and personal needs!
3. How do you get to Tortola, British Virgin Islands – BVI?
From St.Thomas (STT), USVI – 45 minute ferry ride to West End ferry dock on Tortola. 5-minute taxi ride to resort ($4/person). From San Juan, Puerto Rico (SJU) – Half-hour flight to Beef Island Airport (EIS), Tortola. 40 minutes taxi to the resort ($20/person). Passports: US & Canadian citizens are required to produce proof of citizenship – a passport, notarized or original birth certificate and photo I.D. are required. Currency is the US dollar ($), and the electrical current is 110 volt.
4.Where are you located in the BVI?
We are on the South/West part of Tortola, directly on the Caribbean Sea. Our small private sandy beach is great for swimming, snorkeling and shelling. The water is safe because on the south shore, undertows and rip tides do not occur here. The West End of Tortola is friendly, beautiful and the least developed part of the island.
That is not to say you will not find the convenience of Big Ben’s Superette a 5 minute walk from Fort Recovery, or Harbor Market, a charming store with everything from brand name shampoo to gourmet caviar in Soper’s Hole, a mere 5 minute drive. Fort Recovery is completely secluded, yet not cut off from renown beaches such as Smuggler’s Cove or the nearest harbor for a day sail. This hotel has a breathtaking and very special location.
